Plasma energy (plasma fibroblast)

What it helps with

Plasma energy tightens loose or crepey skin without cutting: hooded upper eyelids, crow’s feet, lines around the mouth, and fine lines on the forehead and neck.

How it works

A pen-shaped device creates a tiny electrical arc, called plasma, just above the surface of the skin. Each arc leaves a small dot that makes the skin contract and prompts it to produce collagen as it heals. The dots are placed in a pattern over the area to tighten it.

What to expect

• Numbing cream goes on first. You will feel heat and some stinging during the session.
• The treated dots turn into tiny brown scabs that fall off on their own in 5 to 10 days. Around the eyes, swelling is common for the first 2 or 3 days, so plan your week around it.
• Do not pick the scabs, keep the area clean and dry as instructed, and protect it from the sun for several weeks.
• Tightening shows as the scabs fall off and keeps improving for 8 to 12 weeks.

Who should wait or skip it

Plasma energy carries a higher risk of dark marks on deeper skin tones, so we assess your skin type first and may recommend another treatment. It is not done during pregnancy, with active infections or cold sores in the area, with a tendency to keloid scars, or if you have a pacemaker. We review your health history at the consultation.
